Ryan Bylsma has extensive experience in civil engineering and facility management, having worked at the Port of New Orleans as a Construction Division Program Manager, Acting Director of Maintenance, and Deputy Director of Port Development. Additionally, Ryan has served in various roles in the U.S. Navy Reserve and US Navy, including as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer and Project Manager for humanitarian assistance projects in the Horn of Africa. Bylsma holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman.

STATEWIDE ECONOMIC IMPACT: Maritime activity within the Port of New Orleans is responsible for 21,700 jobs, $4.3 billion of output and $76.8 million in state taxes. FEDERAL ECONOMIC IMPACT: An estimated 119,510 jobs in the U.S. are dependent on the cargo that is handled by the Port of New Orleans. Those jobs account for $29.8 billion of economic output.
