Eleanor Torres

Managing Director, Strategic Advocacy Bureau at Port of Long Beach

Eleanor Torres serves as the Managing Director of the Strategic Advocacy Bureau at the Port of Long Beach since December 2019, overseeing the Government Relations and Communications divisions to advance the Port’s capital improvement program. Previously, Eleanor held the position of Director of Government Relations at the same port, advising leadership on legislative issues and representing the Port to various governmental bodies. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Public Affairs at the Orange County Water District from 2007 to 2019, where Eleanor managed government affairs and communication strategies for significant water purification projects. Additionally, Eleanor worked at the California State Legislature from 1995 to 2004, holding roles that involved managing district offices and securing funding for local initiatives. Eleanor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Smith College.
