Alice Pence has a diverse range of work experience beginning in 2011. Alice started as an office assistant at Bioregional Planning and Community Design, where they assisted with daily tasks, file management, and promotional design work. In 2012, they worked as a winery assistant and office assistant at Camas Prairie Winery, managing the cash register, wine tasting bar, and various tasks related to product management and sales. Alice then worked as a lab technician at the Paleoecology and Fire Ecology Lab at the University of Idaho, conducting sediment core sampling and analysis, as well as managing data and lab procedures. Alice went on to intern at Ada County, Idaho, where they created maps, maintained spatial data, and led a mapping project for the Greenbelt trail system. In 2013, they became a GIS analyst at the Idaho Transportation Department, leading GIS analysis and development efforts for District 1 and creating a web-based application for field data collection. From 2014 to 2017, Alice worked as a GIS and database specialist at the City of Auburn, where they coordinated GIS web development projects, operated UAVs for imagery processing, and managed GIS server maintenance. Currently, they work at the Port of Portland as a GIS analyst, providing GIS analysis and integration into various software, online applications, and reporting tools, and developing data management protocols and applications.
Alice Pence has a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from the University of Idaho, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Art and Graphic Design from Spokane Falls Community College, from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Alice has also obtained certifications such as the FME Professional Certificate from Safe Software in January 2022 and the UAV Remote Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in October 2016.
