Danny van der Ent

Danny van der Ent is an experienced marine expert specializing in inland shipping and the towage industry. Currently serving as an Adviseur Asset Management at the Port of Rotterdam since March 2023 and maintaining ownership of Solent Maritime since January 2020, Danny provides extensive knowledge in applicable legislation and working methods. Involvement as a member of the College van deskundigen voor de binnenvaart includes advising on certification schemes and ensuring quality standards. Previous roles include Master of the Royal Yacht Piet Hein, Marine Surveyor and Head of Salvage and Towage consultancy at BMT, and Salvage Master for the Amuriyah Wreck Removal Project in Iraq. Early career positions include various operational and nautical roles at SMIT International, Fairmount Marine B.V., KOTUG International, and Chemgas Shipping BV. Education was completed at the Nautical Institute Rotterdam from 1989 to 1992.
