Nienke Koops-Troost has been serving as a Juridisch adviseur/Legal Counsel and Privacy Officer at the Port of Rotterdam since May 2017, providing legal advice within the Division Havenmeester. Prior to this role, Nienke worked at the Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport from June 2005 to April 2017 as a (senior) adviseur, where responsibilities included policy support, drafting policy advice, and legal decision-making. Earlier experience includes roles as a procesvertegenwoordiger at the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst from December 2001 to June 2005, focusing on legal representation and advocacy, and an internship at the UNHCR in The Hague. Nienke holds a law degree from Leiden University and completed the International Baccalaureate at Escola Maria Imaculada in São Paulo. Notable achievements include conducting presentations on administrative fines to traffic inspectors in England and Greek-Cyprus and chairing the Knowledge Group on European Law.
