Matthew Szymanowicz, ENV SP, is a seasoned environmental management professional currently serving as a Senior Environmental Management Specialist at the Port of Seattle since August 2022. Prior experience includes serving as an Environmental Project Manager at HDR from 2017 to 2022, and holding Expedition Manager roles at Un-Cruise Adventures and Slickrock Expeditions Inc from 2012 to 2014 and 2008 to 2012, respectively. Earlier in his career, Matthew was a Project Leader at the Student Conservation Association from 2007 to 2008. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Marine and Environmental Affairs from the University of Washington (2014-2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of New Hampshire (2002-2006), with additional educational experience at EcoQuest in New Zealand in 2006.
