Portage County Combined General Health District
Robert Walker currently serves as the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Portage County Combined General Health District since December 2019. With a diverse background, Robert has been the proprietor of Rocking Horse Inn since September 1999, managing a bed and breakfast and rental services. Previous roles include Inspector/Safety Trainer for Portage County, EMS Coordinator and Chair of Emergency Management at Robinson Memorial Hospital, and Firefighter-Medic at Ravenna City Fire Department. Robert also held positions as Fire Safety Officer and Critical Care Transport Paramedic at University Hospitals of Cleveland, an Associate at Edinburg Volunteer Fire Department, and a Teacher focused on Elementary and Special Education programs. Robert obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a focus on Elementary, Early Childhood, and Special Education from Walsh College. Additionally, training as a Paramedic was completed at RMH.
