Valerie Sasaki

Valerie Sasaki serves as the Board Chair for Portland Center Stage at The Armory and as Vice Chairperson of the Board for the Portland Japanese Garden Foundation. In addition to these leadership roles, Valerie has been an Attorney at Samuels Yoelin Kantor LLP since October 2012, specializing in multi-jurisdictional tax issues and tax exposure management. As an adjunct professor, Valerie teaches Estate and Gift Tax and Tax Research and Writing at Portland State University, and previously taught State and Local Tax at the University of Oregon School of Law. Valerie has contributed as a volunteer board member to various organizations, including the Tigard Public Safety Advisory Board and Junior Achievement of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Valerie's educational background includes an L.L.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law, a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, and a BA in History from Tulane University, graduating magna cum laude.
