Heather Spitzley has a diverse work experience in the financial industry, spanning multiple roles and companies. Heather started their career at Astera Credit Union in 2003, where they worked as an Assistant Branch Manager and later as a Branch Manager. In these roles, they were involved in developing and training the credit union's policies and objectives, as well as participating in committees to improve customer service and teamwork.
In 2009, Heather moved into the role of Performance and Learning Coordinator at Astera Credit Union, where they took on the responsibility of implementing the credit union's culture and developing employees to their highest potential. Heather created and facilitated in-house training programs to enhance employee skills and identified areas for improvement.
In 2011, Heather advanced to the position of Vice President of Operations at Astera Credit Union. In this role, they developed and administered the strategic plan for the credit union, evaluated policies and procedures, and provided leadership to ensure efficient and superior service to members. Heather also coached and mentored the operations team to meet performance expectations.
In 2015, Heather joined PFCU as the Culture and Training Director, responsible for developing and executing training programs to support the credit union's growth and strategic initiatives. Heather served as an advisor to the leadership team, conducted ongoing training courses, and provided personal coaching to employees. Heather later became the VP of Culture and Development at PFCU, before eventually assuming the role of SVP of HR and Training. In this executive position, they led comprehensive HR strategies and oversaw recruitment, talent retention, payroll, benefits, performance management, and employee training.
Throughout their career, Heather has demonstrated a strong focus on employee development, improving processes and policies, and ensuring superior service delivery to customers and members.
Heather Spitzley completed their Associate's degree in Human Resource Management from Lansing Community College. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at Northwood University, which they obtained in 2019.
