James Sweatt has extensive experience in law enforcement, currently serving as the Interim Assistant Chief at the Portland Maine Police Department since July 2018. Additionally, James has held the position of Commander at the Portland Police Department since December 1989, contributing to the department's operations for over three decades. James holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Southern Maine, which was completed in 2017.
