Maureen Markey

Maureen Markey, MS, MSW/LSSW, has an extensive background in social work and mental health consultation, with a focus on early childhood development and social-emotional learning. Currently serving as a Mental Health Consultant for the Head Start Program at Portland Public Schools since January 2021, Maureen has been instrumental in supporting North Portland's staff, families, and children. Previous experience includes roles as a School Social Worker within a Transformative SEL Team, where Maureen facilitated district-wide training and workshops, and as a Mental Health Consultant/Bilingual Therapist at Multnomah County, focusing on fostering social-emotional development in Head Start programs. Maureen's earlier positions include serving as a Mental Health Consultant with Morrison Child and Family Services, an Early Childhood Specialist with Children's Relief Nursery, and an Early Childhood Consultant for Save the Children International in Guatemala. Maureen holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and an MS in Early Intervention and Special Education from Portland State University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Elms College.
