Assistant Video Coordinator at Portland Trail Blazers

Ikenna Smart has a diverse work experience in various roles. Ikenna is currently serving as the Assistant Video Coordinator for the Portland Trail Blazers @ the Rose Quarter since January 2022. Prior to this, in 2017, they founded and became the CEO of the Smart Sport Foundation, a non-profit organization that collects and delivers athletic shoes to children in African countries. Ikenna organized a basketball clinic in Nigeria, focusing on basketball skills, tournaments, and mentorships.

From 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at The University of Alabama, supporting the defensive coordinator and analytic team with video work and assisting in player development plans. Ikenna also tracked and generated stats for the head coach.

In 2019, Ikenna worked as an Account Manager at Team Connection and as a Development Assistant at Wake Forest University. As an Account Manager, they handled client accounts, while at Wake Forest University, they researched and recruited new Deacon Club members and assisted in developing an interactive application for club members.

Ikenna Smart has a Bachelor's degree in International Trade & Geography from the University at Buffalo, which they earned from 2014 to 2018. Ikenna then pursued a Master's degree in Liberal Studies at Wake Forest University from 2018 to 2019. Currently, from 2020 to 2022, Ikenna is studying for their Master's degree in Sports Hospitality Management at The University of Alabama.
