Marie-Laure Carvalho has over 20 years of work experience in the marketing and engineering fields. From 1998 to 2001, they worked as a Technology Specialist/Chemical Engineer at Fluor Corporation, providing technical expertise for the development or de-bottlenecking of petro-chemical plants. Marie-Laure then worked as a Marketing Specialist at Schlumberger from 2001 to 2003, providing market research and expertise in the field of IT services and networking. In 2003, they held a Marketing Program Intern position at AlterPoint. From 2004 to 2011, they worked at Dell in various roles, including Marketing Director - North America Consumer Laptops, Marketing Manager - Campaign Planning & Programs, Brand Manager/Sr Consultant - Consumer Desktops, and Marketing Operations Consultant. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Marketing Director - Demand Generation at SolarWinds. In 2014, they held a Vice-President, Marketing role at Performance Tuning Corporation and a Sr. Director/Director, Demand Generation & Growth role at Lifesize. From 2018 to 2022, they were the VP, Marketing Technology and VP, Customer Marketing & Marketing Automation at SolarWinds. Since 2014, they have also been the B2B Marketing Consultant/Owner at Matiere Grise Marketing. Currently, they are the CMO at Portnox.

Marie-Laure Carvalho began their educational journey in 1992 when they earned their BS in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry from ESCIL. Marie-Laure continued their studies at the University of Houston, where they earned their MS in Chemistry in 1997. Finally, in 2002, they earned their MBA in Marketing and Management from the Texas McCombs School of Business.
