Ryan Brown

Ryan Brown has over 18 years of work experience in the IT, business development, and operations sectors. Ryan began their career as Sales Manager for Three Deep, Inc. (Diageo subsidiary) in 2002. In 2004, they moved to Media Cannon Inc., where they served as Director of Operations until 2012. Ryan then joined Aquent Talent (formerly Vitamin T) as Director of Business Development. In 2014, they joined Dataway as Senior IT Project Manager, Sales Support. In 2016, they began working for the University of San Francisco as Senior IT Project Manager (Consultant). Ryan also worked for Portola Systems, Inc. as IT Program Director, Senior Consultant from 2016-2020. During this time, they managed a variety of network and security projects, including network access control (NAC), data center firewall migrations, Layer-2 switching upgrades, wireless mapping/optimization/deployment, security hardening, identity & access management (IAM), data loss prevention (DLP), VPN client migration, multi-factor authentication/two-factor authentication, and organization workflow and policy documentation. Ryan also provided solution-oriented enterprise consulting, existing-customer opportunity identification and scoping (RFP / RFI / RFC drafting & publishing, proposals/SOWs/project charters and contract creation, financial modeling and analysis, risk assessment), SOP design, knowledge-base (KB) articles, vendor contract and scope negotiations, and hiring senior engineering and project management talent.

Ryan Brown attended Northgate High School and then went on to California State University, Chico, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Instructional Design & Technology with a minor in Political Science. After that, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Dominican University of California, with a focus on Sustainable Enterprise.
