Luciano Sugiura

Luciano Sugiura is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in software engineering and leadership roles across prominent companies. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Portoro since January 2023, Luciano previously co-founded Livus as its CTO and contributed to Facebook as a Senior Software Engineer focused on iOS features for WhatsApp. Prior positions include Head of Mobile at Facio, where Luciano led mobile feature development and CI/CD automation, and iOS Tech Lead & Manager at Neon, managing teams and cultivating best practices in iOS development. Luciano's foundational career includes roles as Lead iOS Developer at RockSpoon Inc. and Kekanto.com, where notable apps achieved recognition on the Brazilian App Store. Luciano holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from USP and a Technician degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Escola Técnica Estadual Jorge Street.
