Rafael Escalona Reynoso

Rafael Escalona Reynoso is the CEO and Secretary of the Board of Directors at the Portulans Institute, an independent nonprofit research and educational entity founded in 2019, operating in Washington DC, New York, and Geneva. Prior to this role, Rafael served as a Senior Research Associate and Data Scientist at Cornell University's S.C. Johnson School of Management, where responsibilities included leading the Global Innovation Index initiative and conducting significant research on cultural influences in negotiation behavior. Additional experience includes positions as a Project Leader on President Elect Vicente Fox's Transition Team, an Associate at Grupo de Asesoría Estratégica, and a Junior Investment Manager at Casa de Bolsa Multiva. Rafael holds a PhD in Regional Planning and a Masters in Public Administration from Cornell University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Panamericana.
