Lu Yao

Lu Yao is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in immunotherapy and biomedical research. Currently serving as Associate Director at Poseida Therapeutics, Inc. since September 2019, Lu has held titles including Senior Scientist and Research Scientist II. Previous roles include Senior Scientist at Fosun Kite and Postdoctoral Fellow at Fred Hutch, where focus was on TCR/CAR-T and DC-Vaccine strategies for sarcoma immunotherapy. Additional postdoctoral work at UCSF Medical Center addressed STAT5 signaling in B cell development and tumorigenesis. Early research experience includes positions at Tulane University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on pathology, HIV epidemiology, and virology. Lu Yao earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Tulane University and holds a Master’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as a Bachelor’s in Biology. Additionally, Lu is a CFA III candidate.
