Melissa Forbis

Melissa Forbis has a strong background in software engineering, with experience in both backend development and internships. Melissa most recently worked at Possibility Space as a Senior Backend Engineer starting in December 2022. Before that, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Axon from July 2016 to December 2022, where they focused on backend technologies, specifically file ingestion and MSFT Azure blob storage. Melissa also gained experience as a Software Development Intern at Arista Networks in 2015 and at Zillow in 2013, where they worked on various software development projects including creating a new Debt-to-Income Mortgage Calculator and rebuilding the main Mortgage Calculator for Zillow.

Melissa Forbis obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree from the University of Washington, where they studied Computer Science and Cello Performance from 2011 to 2016. Melissa also holds additional certifications in Principles of Game Design, obtained from Coursera in April 2020, and Introduction to Game Development, obtained in November 2017 from the same institution.
