Courtney McDonald is currently engaged as a volunteer at Potencia and the Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA), focusing on tutoring immigrants in English and assisting with citizenship applications. As a Summer Outreach Intern at Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Courtney researched labor rights and coordinated outreach events. Previous experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Boston College, where research concentrated on emigration causes from Southern Ireland, and internships at Cornell University and Rutgers University, which involved analyzing data. Earlier roles include working as an Ophthalmic Technician at Monterey Bay Eye Center and various volunteer positions. Courtney is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, English, and Hispanic Studies at Boston College, having previously earned an Honors Diploma as Salutatorian from Notre Dame High School in Salinas, CA.
