Dean Cheng

Senior Fellow (non-resident) at Potomac Institute for Policy Studies

Dean Cheng is a distinguished expert in Chinese security policy, military developments, and space exploration, currently serving as a Non-resident Fellow at the George Washington University Space Policy Institute and a Senior Adviser at the United States Institute of Peace. With extensive experience as a Senior Fellow (non-resident) at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and as a former Senior Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, Dean Cheng has contributed to key research on military strategies and technological advancements in China. Previous roles include serving as a Senior Asia Analyst at CNA Corporation and a Senior Analyst at the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment, alongside academic contributions as adjunct faculty at the Army Management Staff College. Dean Cheng's educational background includes a BA in Politics from Princeton University and studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
