Detlef F. Sprinz is a Senior Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since November 1992, focusing on climate policy, long-term policy, and the evaluation of international institutions. In addition to this role, Sprinz has served as a Professor at the University of Potsdam since April 2011, teaching international relations and climate policy, and as a Research Affiliate at ESSCA Ecole de Management since September 2020. Recent research activities include a position as a Visiting Research Fellow at Lund University, engaging with forest carbon supply incentives and business models for nature-based solutions. As a Lead Author for the IPCC’s 6th Assessment Report, Sprinz contributed to the chapter on international cooperation. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of the Saarland.
