Sandra Zimmermann is a Doctoral Researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since January 2022. Previously, Sandra held the position of Head of Delegation at UNFCCC COP27 while affiliated with the University of Bayreuth in November 2022. Sandra gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Technical University of Munich in the Chair of Hydrology and River Basin Management from September 2019 to February 2022 and interned with GIZ GmbH in the International Climate Policy Programme from June to December 2021. Additional internships in hydraulic engineering and flood protection were completed at INROS LACKNER SE in 2018. Sandra also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Technical University of Munich in two separate chairs from 2016 to 2017. Academically, Sandra earned a Master of Science in Global Change Ecology from the University of Bayreuth and has pursued studies in Environmental Law and Environmental Engineering Technology, with an exchange semester at The University of Edinburgh focused on Civil Engineering. Additionally, Sandra engaged in studies on EU Environmental Policy Making and Law at UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles.
