Mike Foster has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Mike started their career in 1994 as a Teacher, working in various districts until 2000. From 2000 to 2002, they served as a Technology Director at Schertz School District. Mike then worked as a Program Manager at Harcourt Assessment from 2002 to 2004. Mike joined Poudre School District in 2004 as a Teacher and later became an Instructional Technology Coordinator from 2011 to 2018. In 2018, they became a Fifth grade teacher at Poudre School District. Mike then transitioned to John F. Kennedy School Berlin in 2020 as a Bilingual Science Teacher, teaching biology, chemistry, and earth science courses for elementary grades. Mike worked there until 2022.

Mike Foster earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs and German from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they attended from 1986 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Boulder, completing their studies from 1992 to 1994.
