Alan Smallman

Alan Smallman currently serves as the Director of Property Services and Sustainability at Poundland & Dealz, overseeing store development, facilities management, utilities, waste management, procurement, and environmental sustainability since June 2015. Previous roles include Interim Retail Director, Head of Facilities and Store Development, and Group Head of Facilities, where responsibilities involved leading maintenance, energy, and waste operations. Prior to joining Poundland & Dealz, Alan held various positions at Tesco Maintenance from August 2001 to May 2015, culminating as Head of Operations for Maintenance and Facilities. Earlier in the career, Alan worked as an Installation and Service Engineer at Trafficmaster and Cobra Installations Ltd and as a Production Engineer at Ingersoll Rand. Alan holds an HNC in Building Studies from The University of Bolton and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering from Wigan College of Technology.
