Douglas Bruce is an experienced professional in the field of biomanufacturing, currently serving as the Special Projects & Facilities Manager at Pow.Bio since June 2022, where the focus is on an AI-controlled continuous fermentation platform that enhances productivity and cost-effectiveness. From January 2012 to December 2023, Douglas held the position of Biomanufacturing Professor & Program Director at Laney College, successfully guiding over 300 students into the biotech industry. Additional experience includes a role as a Fermentation Assistant at Ghost Town Brewing in mid-2021, contributing skills in clean-in-place processes for large fermentation vessels, and prior experience teaching biology courses at multiple community colleges between 2010 and 2012. Douglas holds an M.S. in Biology from Sonoma State University and a B.S. in Biology from UC Irvine.
