Maryan Morel

Maryan Morel has an extensive work experience in various roles. Maryan is currently working as a Lead AI Engineer at Powder, where they lead the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the company's products and services, with a focus on event detection in video game footage and audio streams. Prior to this, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at the same company.

Before joining Powder, Maryan worked at École Polytechnique, where they served as a PHD Student and completed their PHD in March 2021. Maryan also worked as a Teaching Assistant, assisting in teaching Python and distributed computing in the master's program. Additionally, they worked as a Research Engineer, focusing on the restructuring and utilization of the SNIIRAM database, the world's largest retrospective health database. During their time as a Research Engineer Intern, they planned the restructuring of the database and developed a new scalable machine learning algorithm.

Maryan also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Toulouse School of Economics, where they taught a Big Data course focusing on Python and distributed computing. Maryan has also gained experience as a Data Scientist Intern at MFG Labs and Eki:metrics, where they worked on various projects including text analysis, gender prediction, consumer tracking, and social network crawling.

Furthermore, Maryan worked as a Research Intern at Toulouse School of Economics, where they focused on the vulgarization and implementation of spatial interpolation methods. Their work was conducted in collaboration with the DREAL, a government organization. Maryan also gained experience as a Research Intern at INSERM, where they studied the relationship between productivity and mental health of workers, conducting data search and implementing economic models using fuzzy logic and Data Envelopment Analysis.

Maryan Morel began their education in 2010 at the Toulouse School of Economics, where they pursued a degree in Economics, Econometrics, and Statistics. They completed their degree in 2014, obtaining a Magistère d'Economiste Statisticien.
