Lydia Powell serves as the Assistant Principal of a high school at Henry County Public Schools since September 2021, while also holding the position of Adjunct Professor at Thomas University since August 2016. Powell has extensive experience in educational leadership, previously serving as Assistant Principal at Fayette County Public Schools since June 2015, and as a teacher and diversity trainer at Powell and Associates, LLC since 2007. Additionally, Powell trained staff in diversity and differentiated instruction as a Diversity Trainer and Educational Specialist at Henry County Public Schools from June 2006 to July 2013. Academically, Powell earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Sarasota (2008), a Master’s degree in Education/Teaching of Individuals with Emotional Disturbances from Florida State University (2001), and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science Education and Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (1998).
