Soon Hooi Cheah has a strong background in engineering, with significant experience in the semiconductor industry. Soon Hooi began their career in 1998 as a Field Service Engineer at Schlumberger Technologies, where they worked for one and a half years. Soon Hooi then moved on to Novellus Systems, where they worked as a Field Service Engineer for approximately two years. In 2001, they transitioned to an academic role as a Lecturer at KDU College Penang, where they taught for two years before returning to the industry.
In 2003, Soon Hooi Cheah joined Linear Technology as a Staff Engineer and remained with the company for over 13 years until 2017. During this time, they gained substantial experience in their role and made significant contributions to the company.
Following their time at Linear Technology, Soon Hooi Cheah joined Analog Devices in 2017 as a Staff Engineer, where they worked for one year before moving on to Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT) in 2018. At IDT, they continued in their role as a Staff Engineer for over a year before transitioning to their current position at Power Integrations in 2019.

Soon Hooi Cheah pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Microelectronics at Campbell University from 1996 to 1998.
