Gary Jones

Gary Jones is a seasoned professional in electrical and electronics engineering with extensive experience in various roles within the industry. Currently serving as Technical Manager and Projects Engineer at Power Transformers (Pty) Ltd since January 2024, Gary previously held significant positions at SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA, including Project Management Office Electrical Engineer and Electrical Design Manager from September 2020 to January 2025. A long tenure at Powertech Transformers from October 1999 to August 2020 included roles as Electrical Technology Engineer and Senior Electrical Designer. Earlier experience at ACTOM (Pty) Ltd featured the role of Senior Electrical Designer, complemented by foundational work as an Electrical Designer at Bonar Long from February 1987 to June 1995. Gary holds a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Germiston College and a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Bedfordview High School.
