Oscar Azofeifa

Oscar Azofeifa is a seasoned professional in the energy systems sector, currently serving as the Founder and CEO of PowerBox Technology since November 2023. Prior experience includes significant roles at Wärtsilä Energy from February 2021 to October 2023, where responsibilities ranged from Senior Energy Systems Software Engineer to Software Engineer in Data Science, focusing on optimization algorithms for renewable energy systems. Oscar also served as Senior Power Systems Engineer at Heila Technologies, contributing to the development of algorithms for distributed energy resources and overseeing hardware-in-the-loop testing for microgrid products. Previous engineering and teaching roles span institutions such as ComEd, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Universidad de Costa Rica, complemented by a foundation in hardware development at Proyectos de Control Eléctrico PROCON S.A.
