Katrina is grateful to fill the intertwining roles of sister, daughter, youth advocate and doula. She was raised on Coast Salish lands with roots in the Philippine islands and beyond, and has worked locally with young people navigating community mental health, schools, employment and housing over the last eight years. Developing authentic relationships with youth and youth workers has made a huge impact on her own healing and decolonizing journey; she feels so lucky to have landed with PV and is excited to co-create space to continue affirming to herself and girls of color that they are more beautifully complicated, complex and capable than racist, oppressive systems will ever tell them. Katrina can be found by the water, eating mangos, watching movies, dancing Zumba, or riding bikes (and sometimes racing them!).
