Dorcas Murai

Dorcas Murai has a diverse work experience spanning from 2015 to the present. Dorcas began their career as a GIS Intern at the Kenya Livestock and Agriculture Research Organization in June 2015. In January 2016, they worked as an Agent Care Rep at M-KOPA Solar for a few months.

In April 2016, Dorcas joined Powerhive as a GIS Specialist and held this role until April 2017. Following this, they were promoted to the position of Geographic Information System Supervisor and worked from May 2017 to October 2018. During their time at Powerhive, Dorcas demonstrated their expertise in project management, including managing design and BOQs, procurement and material delivery, and on-site supervision of construction teams. Dorcas also handled project reporting and procurement negotiations with suppliers and EPC contractors. Additionally, they were responsible for budget preparation, strategy implementation, and managing changes in project scope.

From October 2018 to August 2020, Dorcas served as the Head of Planning, Design, and Information Systems at Powerhive, overseeing the planning, design, and information systems aspects of the organization. In this role, they further developed their strategic planning and leadership skills.

Since August 2020, Dorcas has taken on the role of Manager Information Systems, Planning, and Design at Powerhive. Their responsibilities include managing project delivery, formulation of delivery timelines, implementing strategies for successful project completion, and communicating project statuses to management.

Dorcas Murai completed their high school education at Starehe Girls Centre from 2005 to 2008. Dorcas then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Geoinformatics from the Technical University of Kenya, completing it from 2011 to 2015.
