Chris Gentle

Optimisation Resourcing Lead at Powerlink Queensland

Chris Gentle has extensive work experience in human resources and business partnering. Chris started their career at the Australian Taxation Office, where they worked as a Senior HR Investigator and later as a Human Resources Area Manager. Chris then moved on to Rio Tinto as a Human Resources Specialist, where they partnered with senior managers to recruit, develop, and reward employees. After that, they joined BHP as a Specialist HR Business Partner and later as a Senior HR Business Partner, where they worked closely with leaders to implement HR initiatives and manage change. Chris then worked at Auto & General as a Senior People Business Partner before joining Powerlink Queensland, where they currently serve as the Transformation Delivery Optimisation Lead.

Chris Gentle attended Mackillop Senior College from 1994 to 1995, where they obtained a Higher School Certificate. Chris then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Human Resource Management at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2000 to 2002. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Human Resource Management at the same university from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Chris also obtained certifications in Certified Change Manager from Prosci and Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid Australia in 2019.
