Joanna Brand

Joanna Brand has a diverse work experience history. Joanna has served as a Non-Executive Director at Powerlink Queensland twice, with their most recent stint starting in 2022. At Melbourne Writers Festival, Joanna held the role of Director starting in 2020. Additionally, they have worked at Senex Energy as Acting General Counsel from April 2023 to December 2023. Joanna has also spent time at Iris Energy as General Counsel and Company Secretary, ME Bank as Senior Legal Consultant and General Counsel, Office of the CEO, Interim General Counsel and Company Secretary, and Interim Company Secretary, Jetstar Airways as Chief Legal Counsel, and Billabong as International General Counsel and Company Secretary (Acting) and Senior Legal Consultant. Joanna Brand's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Women's Studies from Duke University, which they completed with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1993. In the same year, they also attended Harvard Law School, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree with Cum Laude distinction. In 1989, Joanna briefly studied Law and Commerce at the University of Melbourne. Later, in 2002, they pursued an MBA (Executive) degree at AGSM @ UNSW Business School, completing it in 2007. Lastly, in 2009, they attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors, where they completed a Company Directors Course.
