Belinda Hickling

Belinda Hickling has a strong background in information security and compliance. Belinda currently holds the position of Vice President of Information Security & Compliance at PowerPlan, Inc. Belinda previously worked as the Senior Director of Information Security at Higher Logic, where they were responsible for reducing risk and increasing efficiencies throughout the company. Prior to that, they had various roles at EY, including Associate Director - Services Protection Owner and Associate Director | Information Security Awareness, Audit & Policy. Belinda also served as the Information Security Officer & Director of Hosted Services at Latitude Software and Director of Security & Compliance - Cloud Services at Interactive Intelligence. Belinda started their career as a Paralegal at Baker, Ravenel & Bender.

Belinda Hickling's education history starts with their enrollment at the University of Canterbury from 1991 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with honors in Psychology. In 2014, Belinda attended the SANS SEC542 program. Later in the same year, they also obtained certifications as an ISO 27001:2013 Auditor and Lead ISO 27001:2013 Implementer from EY CertifyPoint. In 2011, Belinda Hickling earned the GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) certification. Belinda then acquired the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in 2012. In 2014, Belinda Hickling also achieved the GWAPT certification from GIAC. Moving forward, Belinda obtained various certifications in the field of information security. This includes becoming a SANS Security Awareness Professional (SSAP) in 2021 and obtaining multiple certifications related to information security management and awareness from LinkedIn and Proofpoint between 2022 and 2023. Additionally, they attended the SANS Security Awareness Summit in 2017.
