Mark Gee

Research Engineer at PowerPollen

Mark Gee has a diverse work experience, beginning with a Borlaug-Ruan Intern role in 2013 at the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation. In 2014, they worked as an Engineering Intern, Government Affairs Intern, Insect Trait Development Intern, and Maize Pollinator at Corteva Agriscience, as well as a Plant Breeding Intern at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). In 2015, they took on an Engineering Research Assistant role at Purdue University, and in 2017 they became a Biochemistry Research Assistant there. In 2019, they became a Research Engineer at PowerPollen, and in 2021 they were appointed as a Student Trustee at Purdue University.

Mark Gee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Plant Breeding, a Bachelor of Engineering in Biological/Biosystems Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Purdue University between 2014 and 2019. Mark also completed a study abroad program at Wageningen University & Research in 2018. In 2019, they obtained a Master of Engineering in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University. Mark is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Genetics from Purdue University, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Fundamentals of Deep Learning from NVIDIA in September 2022.
