Michael Bisignano

CLO at PowerSchool

Michael Bisignano joined PowerSchool as Chief Legal Officer in August 2021. He is responsible for all legal, compliance, governance, and risk management functions. Michael brings more than 20 years of experience assisting publicly traded, technology-driven companies as they undergo strategic transformations. His background includes serving as a strategic advisor to boards and executive management on critical matters, including strategic financial and commercial transactions, complex litigation portfolios, and shareholder engagement issues.

Before coming to PowerSchool, Michael served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Terminix Global Holdings, Inc. (f/k/a ServiceMaster Global Holdings, Inc.), where he supervised the legal process associated with the $1.5 billion divestiture of the ServiceMaster business unit. He also served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of CA Technologies, a $4 billion revenue enterprise software provider that was sold to Broadcom in 2018. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Blackboard, Inc., an education technology provider that he helped take private in a leveraged buy-out transaction in 2011.

Michael began his legal career at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, performing international project finance transactions. Previously, Michael was an investment banker in the Structured Finance Group at Morgan Stanley.

Michael received his J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School, his B.S. in Economics/Finance from the Wharton School of Business, and his B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Tennessee. Michael has served as a member of the Board of Trustees at St. John’s Community Services, providing innovative, community-based services to people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities to search for the most effective ways to include people into the living fabric of the community.

Michael has three high-school-aged children whose extracurricular activities occupy the vast majority of his time. He is also an instrument-rated pilot and an avid athlete.
