Blake Rector has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Blake began their career as an Apprentice Shovelman at Benziger Family Winery/Ranch from 1996 to 2005. Blake then worked as a Student Intern, Sr. Engineering Aide, and Analyst at UCLA Facilities Management - Energy Services from 2006 to 2009, where they gained experience in utilities metering, project management, emissions reporting, and LEED building certification. From 2009 to 2012, they served as a Senior Energy Analyst at Itron, Inc. In 2016, they completed a Ph.D. Internship at EPIS, LLC. Blake joined Energy GPS LLC as an Associate in 2017. Rector has been with Powin since 2016, holding various roles such as Technical Consultant, Director of Analytics, and Director of Optimization and Valuation. Currently, they are the Principal, Markets & Optimization at Powin. In their roles at Powin, they have focused on wholesale market participation, bidding strategy, revenue modeling for energy storage projects, and optimization in the energy sector.

Blake Rector obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in the years 2000 to 2005. They then pursued their Ph.D. in Mathematical Science at Portland State University from 2012 to 2017.
