Richard Bierman

Richard Bierman has extensive work experience in the legal field. Richard currently serves as the Chief Legal Officer at GEHA Health since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked at HealthMarkets from 2004 to 2019, holding various roles including Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, and Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. From 2000 to 2004, they were the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, as well as Deputy General Counsel, at HealthMarket Inc. (HEI Exchange Inc.). Richard also worked as an Associate at Kalkines, Arky, Zall & Bernstein, LLP and Kaye Scholer LLP. In these roles, they provided legal counsel in healthcare, negotiating agreements and advising on compliance and regulatory matters. Richard Bierman completed their education at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School from 1990 to 1993, earning a J.D. degree in Law. Prior to that, they attended the University of Pennsylvania from 1986 to 1990, completing their B.A. in American History/History & Sociology of Science. Richard graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
