Cabot Brown is a Senior Advisor to Prager & Company’s Banking practice. In 2012, Mr. Brown founded Carabiner LLC, a boutique investment banking advisory firm focused on segments of the economy in which there is significant entrepreneurial activity and social impact. Mr. Brown previously headed healthcare investment banking groups at GCA Savvian; Seven Hills Partners, which he co-founded; and Volpe Brown Whelan, which he joined at its founding. He also co-founded Brown, McMillan & Co., a private equity firm.
Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Advisors of Epic CleanTec, a developer of wastewater treatment systems, and Earth Knowledge, a sustainability informatics company. He is Trustee Emeritus and former Board Chair and Trustee of The Thacher School and had similar roles at Town School in San Francisco. He also served as a Director of the BASIC Fund, an educational foundation. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and the Haas School, UC Berkeley and, previously worked as a journalist at the Los Angeles Times, ABC News, and Rolling Stone magazine.
Mr. Brown earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1987 with high distinction as a George F. Baker Scholar and an AB cum laude from Harvard College in Government in 1983. Mr. Brown is a FINRA Registered Securities Principal.
