Michael Liebreich

Michael Liebreich has extensive experience in the clean energy and transportation sectors. Michael is currently working as a Co-Managing Partner at EcoPragma Capital LLP since March 2021. Prior to this, they served as an Advisor to the UK Board of Trade starting in September 2020. In January 2020, Liebreich co-founded PragmaCharge. From 2017, they have been the CEO and Principal of Liebreich Associates.

Liebreich's notable work includes their role as the Founder and Senior Contributor at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, where they established the company in 2004 and ran it until 2014. Michael was also the Chairman of the Advisory Board until the end of 2017. Additionally, they served as the Chief Executive of Bloomberg New Energy Finance from 2009 to 2014. Before this, Liebreich held the position of Chair and Chief Executive at the company from 2004 to 2009.

Liebreich has also worked as a Special Advisor at Sustainable Development Capital, LLP since September 2018. Michael served as the Chairman of Zeelo starting in April 2018. Furthermore, they have been a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London Energy Futures Lab since July 2010.

In terms of board memberships, Liebreich was a Board Member at Transport for London from September 2012 to September 2018. Michael also served as the Chair and Co-founder of Pearlshare, a travel recommendation platform, from January 2014 to April 2018, when it was acquired by Smartvel.

Michael Liebreich obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cambridge University, Christ's College. Michael completed their undergraduate education from 1981 to 1984.

Later, Michael pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School, specializing in finance, operations, negotiation analysis, and a course called Power and Influence. Michael attended Harvard Business School from 1989 to 1990.

Outside of their formal education, Michael Liebreich holds a certification for once flying over 100 yards in a hang-glider, though no specific institution or year of certification is provided.
