Carmen R. Carter is the current assistant provost at Prairie View A&M University. Carmen has previously held positions as an assistant dean for graduate studies and student affairs at the University of Houston and as an assistant director of admissions at William Paterson University and Grinnell College. Carmen has been working in higher education for over 20 years and is passionate about helping students reach their full potential.

Dr. Carmen R. Carter holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University and a Master's Degree in Higher Education from the University of Iowa.

Carmen R. Carter reports to James M. Palmer, Provost & SVP for Academic Affairs.
