Rob Plate has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Rob started their career in 1987 as an Engineer at KUKI/KIAH, where they maintained and repaired radio broadcast equipment and gained experience in both AM and FM transmitters. Rob also set up and operated remote broadcasts outside the studio. In 1992, Rob joined the US Navy as a Fire Control/Data Systems specialist. During their tenure, they maintained, repaired, and operated various Naval weapons, radar, and computer systems. Rob also served as a Vessel Boarding and Ships Defense Team Leader and Trainer, as well as a member of the Naval Security Team. In 2014, they joined Front Sight Firearms Training Institute as a Range Master/Instructional Staff, where they continued to hone their instructional and leadership skills. Most recently, in 2023, Rob became the Lead Instructor at PrairieFire.
Rob Plate earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they obtained their high school diploma from Elmira Southside High School in 1989-1990. Before that, they attended Ukiah High School from 1986-1988, focusing on general high school studies.
