Jane Ton

President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Pre-Health Shadowing

Jane Ton has a diverse range of work experience spanning several organizations and roles. In 2016, they worked as a Chemistry Lab Assistant and a Math Tutor/Professor Assistant at Los Angeles Pierce College. From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Peer Student Counselor at the Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) and took on various roles at the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge (DGC), including being a Certified Screening and Treatment for Anxiety and Depression (STAND) Peer - Lead Facilitator and participating in the Resilience Peer Network (RPN) as RPN I, II & III. In 2020, they joined the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior as an intern in the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Early Childhood Partial Hospitalization Program (ECPHP). Jane also held positions at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as a UCLA RAP Scholar and at the Department of Engineering and Technology as a Biotechnology Program Scholar. Jane'smost recent work experience is with Pre-Health Shadowing since 2021, where they held roles as Vice President & Head Program Manager, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (COO), and currently President and COO. Additionally, starting in 2023, they will be working as a Research Intern at the UCSF Department of Medicine in Dr. David Kastner's Research Laboratory, where they will be involved in a project examining the potential of prepulse inhibition of the acoustic startle response (PPI) as a biomarker for brain function in neuropsychiatric diseases.

Jane Ton began their education at Los Angeles Pierce College in 2015, where they obtained an Honors Transfer Certified (TAP) in Physical Sciences in 2018. During this time, they also earned an Associate's degree in Chemistry and another Associate's degree in Mathematics from the same institution, graduating in 2018 as well.

In 2018, Jane transferred to UCLA to continue their education. However, no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for their time there between 2018 and 2020.

Following their time at UCLA, Jane attended City College of San Francisco in 2022 and completed a degree in Biotechnology from the Biotechnology Program of the Department of Engineering and Technology in 2023.

Additionally, Jane has obtained several certifications throughout their education journey.
