Senior Simulation Engineer at PreAct Technologies

Lance Safranek has a range of work experience in various industries. Lance started their career as a Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University, where they completed their Masters thesis using mathematics to study the treatment plans for Cyclical Neutropenia. Lance also worked as a Teaching Assistant, supervising classes and providing additional support to students.

Following their time at the university, Lance worked as a Data Research Analyst at Rentrak, where they were responsible for incorporating changes in television network carriage and solving problems through quantitative investigation and programming.

Lance then joined NaturalPoint as a Software Engineer, where they developed and maintained an Unreal Engine Plugin for optical motion tracking. Lance also designed and implemented sensor fusion algorithms for hardware integration into game engines.

Currently, Lance is employed at PreAct Technologies as a Senior Simulation Engineer. Their role involves simulating new automotive sensor technology in the Unreal Game Engine and implementing computer vision and machine learning algorithms to enhance vehicles' understanding of the surrounding environment.

Lance Safranek completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Simon Fraser University from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics at the same institution from 2012 to 2014.
