Roy Carls

Roy Carls is an experienced orthopedic surgeon currently practicing at Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine since June 2019. Previously, Roy served as the Owner and Orthopedic Surgeon at PEAK PERFORMANCE ORTHOPEDICS, INC from January 2006 to June 2019 and worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Greater Chesapeake Orthopaedic Associates LLC from June 2004 to December 2006. Roy’s military background includes serving as a Medical Officer in the US Navy from June 1988 to June 2004, where training included an orthopedic residency at Portsmouth and Naval Hospital Bethesda, as well as a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital. Roy completed Flight Surgeon training in Pensacola and served as a flight surgeon with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing from 1993 to 1996. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology premed from UCLA (1982-1987) and medical training at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) from 1988 to 1992.
