Matt Whitehill

Matt Whitehill is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in AI and engineering. Currently serving as CTO and Co-Founder of PreemptiveAI since March 2024, Matt focuses on developing a foundational model for real-time health outcome prediction using biomedical signals. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Allen Institute for AI since September 2021, Matt is building a stealth AI startup. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where research on deep learning algorithms led to a published cough detection paper, and various engineering positions at companies like Microsoft Research and Stack Labs, showcasing expertise in embedded systems and machine learning. Matt holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.
