About Preface

Preface is a global tech enabler with the mission to empower individuals, schools, and corporations to thrive in the era of Web 3.0. We have been living and breathing by the motto “there isn’t a thing that cannot be learnt.”

Our journey started in Hong Kong, tackling the issues of our traditional education model to cultivate future global talents through customized, uptrend, and bitesize learning. In 2018, we started “Preface Coffee & Wine” to bring the immersive lifestyle learning experience to life. 

In 2021, with the world’s growing awareness and demand of tech education that works, Preface secured a 6M USD Series A funding. Since then, we have partnered with a range of global companies, such as Meta, IWC, Warner Music and more to showcase the possibility of technology across all industries. 

2022 and 2023 is a phase of expansion and automation. We are expanding the Preface Ecosystem globally to London, Singapore, Japan, and more and at the same time developing cutting edge technology in preparation for Preface 2.0. We are just getting started.

About the role

You will design ever-improving applications so that our customers can learn and apply technologies on our Platform. You will be leading to visualise and influence the most appropriate UX UI and see through the implementation of your design.

You will own the quality of the interface of our digital products and online user experience. Through a top-notch online experience, you will contribute to our growth in multiple geo-locations such as Hong Kong, the UK and Japan.

Responsibility

• Responsible for the design of digital products on web and mobile

• Perform iterative design process and deliver design artefacts

• Formulate design specifications, patterns and system as governance of standards.

• Conduct research and consolidate findings into frameworks such as persona, journey mapping, information architecture

• Conduct user testing to validate the design hypothesis

• Work closely with tech leads and product managers to articulate and develop design ideas into quality products

About you

Essential Qualifications

• Degree holder in product design, communication design, HCI or related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in UX, digital product design
• Deep understanding of UCD, lean product methodologies
• Data-driven analytical thinking, also with acute intuition as a designer
• Holistic mindset and obsession with details
• Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal, and visual
• Demonstrated proficiency in prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, AxureRP or equivalents

Preferable Qualification

• Knowledge in web and mobile framework such as React and Jetpack Compose

• Experienced in working in a start-up or high-growth company

• Passionate about new technologies and education

• Pragmatic and mindful of real-world complexities, constraints, ambiguities, and business priorities

• Create scalable and efficient processes
