Kortney Balas

Kortney Balas serves as the Director of National Property Management Operations at Preferred Apartment Communities since July 2025. With over 23 years of experience in the multifamily industry, Kortney previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Strategic Services at JVM Realty Corporation from June 2012 to July 2025, where responsibilities included leading technology initiatives and optimizing operational performance. Prior roles at JVM included Vice President of Information Management, Director of Revenue Management and Business Systems, and Director of Property Management Applications. Additional experience includes property management and compliance roles at Aimco and Wheaton Franciscan, along with a brief tenure as a Loss Adjuster at Traveler's Insurance Company. Kortney Balas holds a degree from Western Illinois University, earned between 1998 and 2001.
