Charles Townsend

Charles Townsend is an experienced professional in the timber industry with a robust background in Chain of Custody certification and sustainable supply chains. Currently serving as the Country Representative for the UK & Ireland at Preferred by Nature since September 2023, Townsend also operates ForWood Consulting Ltd., providing expert consulting services and a subscription service for COC certification and compliance. Previously, Townsend held significant roles at SGS United Kingdom Ltd., including Lead Auditor and Product Manager for various certification services, and contributed to the establishment of certified supply chains at ForWood International Ltd. and Rainforest Alliance. Townsend's expertise is further complemented by a strong educational foundation, holding a BSC (Hons) in Communications from the University of Plymouth.
